Lauren and David Rosenbaum teach Second Grade Sunday School.
Location: Room 9 (basement level) of the Education Building.
Our mission for Second Grade Sunday School is to teach Bible truths and apply them to the lives of second graders through the telling of Bible stories, memorization of scripture verses and use of songs and games/activities.
We are encouraging the children to memorize scripture and begin learning the Books of the Bible. Second Grade is an exciting time as it is the year that Second Baptist Church provides each child with their own Bible. This presentation is usually done in the Spring and involves a special Sunday School lesson about the Bible.
We also encourage the children to become aware of mission projects around the church by participating in them as a class. As an opportunity presents itself, we will send out more information as to how your child can participate.
Each Sunday children are given a learner guide to take home. The guide summarizes the Bible story just learned, provides scripture reading for each day of the following week as well as the scripture verse for that Sunday and includes a couple of quick activities to reinforce the Bible truth that was taught. We encourage parents to use this tool as a way to continue Bible learning at home.
This Sunday School year promises to be an exciting time of learning and growth for your child. We hope that you will join us in our efforts to instill Bible truths and make life applications as we strive to a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
