William Bruce Vaughan, Jr.

W. Bruce Vaughan, Jr., 88, of Richmond, passed away November 19, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Denson Vaughan; son, William B. Vaughan, III and wife Kaye of Glen Allen, Va.; daughter Barbara Vaughan Bates of Savannah, Ga.; seven grandchildren: W. Bruce Vaughan, IV and wife Jill, Bryan F. Vaughan and wife Kim, A. Carter Vaughan and wife Jill, David B. Bates, Robley C. Bates, Stuart G. Bates, Rachel B. Robertson and husband Daniel; three great- grandchildren, William B. Vaughan, V, Janie M. Vaughan and Connor R. Vaughan; two sisters, Elsie V. Burton and Evelyn V. Hanel; brother, Edwin E. Vaughan; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Vaughan retired after 46 years of service at Vepco. He was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the Rotary Club and the past president of the Lexington, Virginia, Rotary Club.

His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Avenue, where the family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 21. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, at the Powell Chapel of Second Baptist Church, 9614 River Road. Interment at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of the Virginias, Inc., 2601 Willard Road, Suite 103, Richmond, VA 23294.
