She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Straub Proffitt; son, Francis DePaul Straub, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth Dix Straub; sister, Dorothy Shewbridge Smith; four grandchildren, Whitney Elizabeth Proffitt, John Stephen Proffitt, IV, Francis DePaul Straub, III, and Carter Bladen Straub.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, January 3, 2001, at 12:30 p.m. at Westhampton Memorial Park.
