Lynwood Watkins "Crit" Richardson

Mr. Richardson, of Crozier, is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia Y. Richardson; five children: Lynwood W. Richardson, II, Ronnie Thornton, George T. Richardson, D. Ward Richardson, and Crit T. Richardson; nine grandchildren: J. Stuart and D. Allen Thornton; Taylor, Matthew, Robert, Sarah, Ginny, Alyson and Kristen Richardson; and a sister, Betty Lee Jones, of Texas.

Crit graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, and was president of his class, and from the University of Virginia. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, and was Vice-President of Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company, mannaging the Mortgage Loan and Real Estate Departments until his retirement in 1987. He was a farmer, raising horses and cattle, an avid orchid collector, loved diving, ocean reefs, plants, animals and the outdoors. He was a member of Deep Run Hunt Club and of Second Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 12, at Second Baptist Church. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Second Baptist Church, 9614 River Road, Richmond VA 23229, or to the National Wildlife Foundation.
