Gertrude S. (Gertie) Robinson, widow of Alfred W. (Robbie) Robinson, went to be with the Lord December 25, 2007. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard W. Robinson, Sr. She is survived by her son, Alfred W. Robinson, Jr.; grandchildren: W. Randolph and Richard Ross Robinson, Meg Brooks, Amy Jester, and Richard W. Robinson, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Ross, Walker, Taylor and Henry Robinson, and Austin Brooks.

Gertie loved doing for others and having family and friends around her. She was very talented in arranging flowers for all occasions. She was past president of Colonial Place Garden Club. She served Second Baptist Church in arranging the flowers for Sunday services for many years.

She was receptionist for Guy Smith Hardware, WTVR Channel 6, and the University of Richmond, Maryland Hall.

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon Friday, December 28 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital, Richmond, Va. Arrangements by Bliley's-Central Chapel.
