Mildred O'Gorman, the dauther of Roscoe Henry and Corrie Arnold Minton, left this world on October 30, 2007, joining her beloved and devoted husband of 55 years, Edward J. O'Gorman. She is succeeded by her devoted and loving daughter, Marilyn McClard, who cared for her after the passing of Eddie; by her granddaughter, Lauren Minton McClard; by her sister, Opal McElroy; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mildred's family expresses its gratitude to the entire staff of Ginter Hall West, who loved her -- became a second family to her -- and assisted in her care in the last years of her life.
Mildred was born in Hemphill, Texas, and was raised there and in Bay City, Texas. She lived all of her married life in Houston, Texas. After Eddie's passing, she moved in with Marilyn and became a Richmond resident. She was blessed with one brother and six sisters, all but one of whom also preceded here in death.
Mildred joined Second Baptist Church, where a memorial service will be conducted in Powell Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday, November 2. Afterward, she will return to her beloved, native Texas, where a funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday, November 5, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston. Then she will be laid to rest beside Eddie, where they will remain together for eternity in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
