He was the sone of the late Judge Frederick C. Mullin and Bunie Rock Mullin of Emmerton, Va., and the widower of Frances August Mullin of Richmond. He is survived by his daughter, Carole Mullin Rayner and her husband Bob; three grandsons, Bob Rayner and his wife, Page, David Rayner and his wife, Cindy, all of Richmond, and Andy Rayner of Boise, Idaho; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Mullin and his wife, Gladys, of Emmerton; and a dear friend and sister-in-law, Jo Baskerville of Richmond.
Mr. Mullin was an assistant clerk of the Civil Justice Court of Richmond, and a World War II veteran. He retired from Cauthorne Paper Co., where he served many years as secretary/treasurer.
He was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church, and served as Church Clerk from 1953-1978. He was a Deacon and a member of the Finance Committee, and held numerous other positions at Second Baptist.
Fred was a loving husband, father and "Pop." He enjoyed good music, golf, fishing, and his friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 29, at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road. Graveside services will be held at Hollywood Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Canterbury at 3 p.m. Monday, January 5.
