James Frederick Hart

He is survived by his wife, Gene Whitlock Hart; a daughter, Marydel Hart Rives and her husband, King Rives of Richmond, and a granddaughter, Channing Rives; and a son, Mark Frederick Hart of Richmond. Also, a brother, Clisby Hart and his wife, Elizabeth, of Sandston and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hart was a graduate of the University of Richmond and the MCV School of Pharmacy. He was co-owner of Bierer's Pharmacy in Lexington, Va. and Lyle Drug Co. in Bedford, Va., and Moneta Pharmacy, in addition to working for Shirey and Brown Pharmacy in Buena Vista, Va.

He was a long-time member of Bedford Baptist Church where he was a deacon and member of the choir. Also, he was a member of Second Baptist Church, Richmond, where he sang in the Sanctuary Choir. He was a member of the Northside Masonic Lodge for 50 years.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Second Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in Spence Hall at Second Baptist. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the music ministry of Second Baptist Church, 9614 River Road, Richmond VA 23229.
