Ms. Dickerson, formerly of Fishersville, Va., was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett W. Dickerson. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Stanley; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Drs. Marvin and Mary V. Dickerson, and Richard and Linda Dickerson; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

On August 9, 2002, at 11 a.m., a graveside service will be held at Augusta Memorial Park in Fishersville. That afternoon, a service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Lakewood Manor in Richmond.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Music Suite of Second Baptist Church in Richmond. Arrangements are being handled by the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home.
