MontaSue A. Clark, 73, of Waynesboro, went to the Lord Wednesday, September 27, 2006, after a fight with cancer.
Born March 29, 1933, in South Charleston, West Virginia, she moved to Waynesboro, Virginia in 1969, where she served as the dietitian for Waynesboro Community Hospital. She also held positions of dietitian at Western State Hospital in Staunton, Virginia and Food Service Director/Dietitian of Camelot Hall Nursing Home in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she retired in 1997.
MontaSue was a member of Second Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, where she sang in the Sanctuary Choir until the cancer made it too difficult for her to sing. She enjoyed cooking, baking, arts and crafts, and crocheting. She was known in the area for the love and attention she put into baking cakes for celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions for friends and family. It was said that she never met a stranger. MontaSue was always full of care and compassion. She taught by example how to live a Christian life as she raised her three sons. Anyone that ever held a conversation with her went away with a smile on their heart. Although her passing leaves a huge void that cannot be replaced, she leaves behind a legacy of love.
MontaSue is survived by her son, James E. Clark; his wife, Carol, and their children, Matthew Clark, Sarah Clark and Amanda Clark of Richmond, Virgina; her son, Allen C. Clark of Frederick, Maryland; her son, Robert L. Clark and his children, Jeremy Clark, Brandon Clark and Eric Clark and his wife, Marion Clark, and her children, Leonard Monopoli, Amber Monopoli, Stephanie Monopoli and John Monopoli of Staunton, Virginia. Also surviving are her aunt, Dorothy Clark of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; her sister, Judy Schwab; her niece, Yvonne Hoff, her husband Charlie, and their children, Robert and Katherine; and her nephew, Gene Schwab, his wife, Brook, and their children Alex, Tristan, and Emily, all currently in Texas; her former daughter-in-law, Terry Grow and her son, Haden Grow of Waynesboro; and close family friend Shuh-Ling Kuo and her husband, Gary Megorden, of Georgetown, South Carolina.
Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her parents, Paul L. and Alta M. Alspaugh; and her brother, James B. Alspaugh.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2006, at Second Baptist Church, 9614 River Road, Richmond, VA, 23229 with the Rev. Dr. Raymond L. Spence and the Rev. Dr. Nevin S.
