He is survived by his wife, Mary Kemper Grant Butry; daughter, Fay Blon and her husband, John; son, Richard Butry, Robert Saupp; granddaughters, Donna Von Blon and Dana Butry; grandsons, Jeffrey Blon and R. Scott Butry; brother, Fred Butry, Jr.; and nieces and nephews.

As a highlight of his career, he was a dedicated of his trade at the shipyard in Newport News and helped build the USS Enterprise.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Avenue.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 1 in Westhampton Memorial Park.
