Danville Mission Trip

“Closer Together-Closer to God”

We travel to Danville, VA to serve inner city children through Back Yard Bible Club, Party in the Park, Sports, construction and more. We will be hosted by First Baptist Danville and work with them as we reach out with the love of Christ to the children of Danville.  We have gotten closer in our relationships with the children of Danville and we can’t wait to return and see what has been happening in their lives for Christ since we were there in 2009.

Stop Hunger Now

  • Stop Hunger Now is a hunger relief agency that has been fulfilling its commitment to end hunger for more than 12 years.  The organization has coordinated the distribution of food and other lifesaving aid to children and families in countries all over the world!
  • Stop Hunger Now launched its meal packaging program in 2005. The program perfected the assembly process that combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix including 21 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packets. Each meal costs only 25 cents. The food stores easily, has a shelf-life of five years and transports quickly.  Stop Hunger Now works with international partners that ship and distribute the meals in-country. Stop Hunger Now’s meals primarily support school lunch programs. Due to the ease of assembly and transport, meals can be shipped to areas in crisis. This process for distribution, through school feeding programs in hunger-stricken regions, is seen as a practical means to end hunger.

Deeds of Love Ministry

  • Deeds of Love Ministry (DOLM) is dedicated to the care of HIV/AIDS victims and to the education of South Africans about the HIV/AIDS epidemic. We provide for orphans and vulnerable children through orphan ministry, feeding programs and by providing a free education. We support the disadvantaged population of South Africa and encourage economic development through the funding of micro businesses. Good morning DOLMers:

 I have received a new package of letters from approx. 15-20 of our orphans and wanted to share a few with the group before distributing them.

 “My Beloved Parents,  I am writing to thank you for the opportunity you have given me and also for the school needs. I am so grateful that you made me a child among other children. I used to compare myself with other children and still it showed I was just an ordinary child with no parents. I do not have anything else to say but these words. I say thank you, my parents.”

 “Greetings in Jesus Name,  I am so grateful for the school uniforms of which I was not so sure of where I would get them. Thank you very much my Sunday School teachers. May God bless you for the work you are doing.”

 “Sir/Madam,  Thanks for your good deed. I thank God to be one of the chosen kids for this good present. I am (orphan’s name) a soccer and cricket player. I am 14 years doing grade 8 in high school. My principal appreciated this help. My life would be in a mess without your help. You have overcome my financial upbringing. You gave me an important thing in life ‘EDUCATION.’ I will try my level best to study hard and become a successful person. Yours in Christ.”

 Let this be an encouragement to you who may be fighting the good fight and not to keep up trying to make a difference in this world. God is making things happen through those who will allow Him to take control of our lives!
