Creative Learning Center is the weekday preschool ministry of Second Baptist Church. It has operated since 1981, and serves children from 18 months through 5 years of age. CLC hours are Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. It operates as a religious exempt program under the Department of Social Services for the State. A committee of Second Baptist Church members, called the CLC Committee, acts as an advisory board for the preschool program.
There are 162 children enrolled in the school, with a staff of 20. CLC is a developmental preschool, offering music, movement and chapel on a weekly basis, in addition to classroom activities.
The philosophy of the school is to provide a nurturing environment with developmentally appropriate curriculum, enabling the children to learn through play using all of their senses. It is our purpose to treat each child with respect, honesty and love, in order to assist in the development of a healthy self-image.
