The Building nearest the corner of River and Gaskins is Powell Chapel. The front door faces east opposite to Spence Hall, which will be last in this description. A portico leads north from the side of Powell Chapel and takes you to the Education Building. This building has three levels:
Basement Chart (1) below ground, which includes Sunday School classrooms for Grades 2 through 8, plus the Seekers (Graham) Adult class and the College Age class.
Ground Level Chart (2) the ground level, which includes the rest of the Adult classes and a parlor, and
Upper Level Chart (3) the upper level, which is for Grades 9 through 12.
The portico then turns right (or east) and continues on to the west vestibule of the Sanctuary.
Climb the steps to the door and as you enter the vestibule, steps to your right lead up to the balcony. Continue through the vestibule and three front (or south) doors are on your right. The choir room is at the rear (or north end) of the Sanctuary. Wheel chair access can be had to the Sanctuary through the western side door near the rear of the Sanctuary.
As you reach the east end of the vestibule, another set of steps leads up to the balcony. As you exit the east side vestibule door and walk down the steps, another portico proceeds eastward to a group of buildings. Before you get to those buildings, pause and look to the front left (or northeast) across a portion of the parking lot and see the Church Office Building.
Continuing on, the portico turns to the right and you are going past Building 3. You reach the end of that building and look to the left and see another walkway between the buildings. These four buildings include ages infant through first grade.Turn left and the first building on your left is Building 3. It includes bed babies through 2-year olds. During Sunday School, a worker at a table in front of Building 3 will meet parents and register them and their children for later pickup after Sunday School.
Across from that building is Building 2. The 3-year olds are in this building on the right or west side of the building.
Coming out of that building, turn right and continue eastwardly along this portico. The building on your right is Building 5 and includes the 4-year olds and the 5-year olds. Across from this building is Building 4, in which are the 1st graders and the ESL Sunday School Class.
Return to the beginning of this portico (between Buildings 2 and 3) and turn left along the previous portico and walk to Spence Hall, a multipurpose building. In this building is the Austin/Perkins Class. In this building Family Night Dinners are held on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. At the rear (eastern end) of this building is the kitchen. Go back to the front or western end of this building and look out the door and you will see Powell Chapel, where we began.

We are beginning construction in the Fall of 2000 on a Family Life Center, which will be located to the rear, or north, of the Sanctuary. When construction is complete, there also will be expanded church office space and music rooms, all of which will connect with the Sanctuary and the Church Office Building. Also, the Sanctuary will be enlarged by adding space on both the east and west of the Sanctuary.
For additional information about the new construction, see New Construction
